SCHOOL bosses at Clacton County High School are celebrating "wonderful" GCSE results which saw a huge 18 per cent improvement on last year.
There were some stunning individual results with two pupils achieving A* grades in every single subject - a first for the school.
Danae Zuccala, 16, was awarded 11 A* grades including the new highest award of A* distinction in further maths.
Ben Jones also achieved straight A* grades in his 11 subjects.
Lily-Pegg Burge, Nick Moodey and Amy Bradd also achieved a raft of A* and A grades.
Just over 60 per cent of County High pupils achieved at least 5A*-C grades including English and maths.
Principal Neil Gallagher said this year ranks among some of the best results the school has ever achieved.
“These results demonstrate an 18 per cent improvement over last year which was affected by the volatility in English marking experienced by many schools," he said.
"English has now bounced back to previous performance levels having achieved 83 per cent A*-C.”
He added: “There have been some fantastic individual performances this year which has enabled all our students to progress onto apprenticeships, sixth form or further education. Our students and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that the best possible grades have been awarded and we are all incredibly proud of their achievements.”
