A WOMAN and a boy were taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Frating.
The smash occurred just before 1.30pm on Thursday on Colchester Road near the Kings Arms pub on Main Road which was shut for more than two hours.
The woman was cut free from a car which had flipped onto its side by fire she crews and she was airlifted to Queen Hospital in London by the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance, and a land ambulance took the boy to the same location.
Both were suffering from head injuries described as serious but not life threatening and the hospital specialises in injuries of that type.
Two ambulance crews, an ambulance officer and the hazardous response team were call called to the scene along with the air ambulance.
Two other people were treated for minor injuries at the scene and taken to Colchester General Hospital.
