A SUPER slimmer who shed a whopping seven stones got on swimmingly with Olympian Mark Foster when she met him at a competition to find the UK’s top women slimmers.

Svelte Lucy Galvani, 35, was one of just 54 dieters to win a place at the semi finals of Slimming World’s Woman of the Year 2016 competition after she lost nearly a third of her body weight.

The Clacton mum-of-two took up a healthy lifestyle and saw her weight drop from 18st 3lb to 10st 13lb.

In the first week alone she lost more than five pounds.

Slimline Lucy was congratulated by Mark, who is Britain’s most-decorated male swimmer and six-time world champion.

Since retiring from the pool he has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and now has a successful presenting career.

Mark said he was amazed by Lucy’s impressive transformation.

He said: “It was a real pleasure to meet Lucy and chat to her about her weight loss.

“As an athlete I know how important health and fitness is for your general wellbeing so I think it’s incredible to hear how these remarkable women have turned their lives around.”

Lucy said her weight loss had impacted on her whole life.

She said: “I love being a fitter mum and being able to run around with my two children instead of being out of breath all the time.”

She was nominated for the competition by members of her slimming group.

Lucy failed to reach the final and the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime holiday to Mexico, but Mark said: “They’re all winners in my book.”

Carole Bloomfield, who runs the the group Lucy attends, said she was an “inspiration” to others.

She added: “While she has lost weight she’s grown in so many other ways including her confidence, her happiness and her zest for life.”
