A MAN was injured following a collision in Thorrington which sent his car into a field.
The casualty, thought to be in his 30s, suffered a suspected back injury during the incident when his car left the road and went into a nearby field.
Two fire crews attended the scene on Clacton Road at 8am today, which involved just one car.
Ambulance staff first received the 999 call at about 7.30am, and the man was released to their care by 9am.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “With the help of fire service colleagues he was safely removed from the vehicle, and given care at the scene by our crews before being taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.
"Thankfully his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and we wish him the very best for his recovery.”
