TRIBUTES have poured in for a bubbly 21-year-old rugby player who died after being involved in a car crash.

Shane Scott died in a fatal two-car smash in Tenpenny Hill, Thorrington, yesterday afternoon.

Friends say the former Colne Community College student, from Clacton, worked in the rail industry and described him as “the man you will never forget”.

Alan Lee, vice-chairman of Clacton Rugby Club where Shane played as a forward in the second team, said: “I was shocked, as a club we would like to pay tribute to him.

“He was an up and coming personality in the club.

"He was a generous and funny lad, it’s just devastating.

“He was always laughing and was a bit of a joker, he was a big personality and he will be missed.”

A second man is still fighting for his life in hospital after the crash while three other people were treated for minor injuries at Colchester General Hospital.

The incident took place shortly before 2.15pm in Tenpenny Hill and police are continuing to appeal for information, including from anyone who captured the crash on a dash camera.
