FAME-SEEKING youngsters are perfecting their pitch and fine-tuning their instruments ready to wow scouts from Britain’s Got Talent.

Colchester-based music school Supastars Academy has been invited to showcase their pool of stellar students to scouts from the country’smost successful TV talent contest.

And its bosses are urging talented performers to contact them to audition too.

The show’s winner gets a cash prize worth hundreds of thousands of pounds and the honour of performing at the Royal Variety Performance.

A film crew is due to visit the academy, at Hythe Community Centre, Colchester, on Thursday, October 2, and students are rehearsing frantically for the showcase.

Stuart Hardy, director of Supastars Academy, said: “There are some excited young people in Colchester. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity of performing for the early stages of Britain’s Got Talent.

“This is the first time the production team have gone on the road searching for talent. I hope they like what they see at our little show!”

Previously the show held auditions at major venues around the country.

The best from these auditions go on to try to wow the celebrity judging panel, which includes Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

The show’s new series will be on TV in the new year.

Supastars Academy has been running a music school in Colchester and Tendring since 2011.

It runs two rock school sessions a week in Colchester for students aged eight to 16.

Mr Hardy said: “We only have a short time to prepare.

“I would be happy to hear from any other talented entertainers, of any age, who think they have what it takes.

“Britain’s Got Talent have made it clear they want to see as many acts as possible while they are in Colchester, so if anyone wants to get involved they are welcome to email me through our website supastarsacademy.co.uk.”
