DRIVERS have been warned speed cameras along two stretches of the A12 are now working.

Average speed cameras have been installed either side of Colchester, between Kelvedon and Witham, and at Hughes Corner in both directions.

The limit is 70mph other than on the stretch around Hughes Corner where roadworks remain – where the limit is 40mph.

The Kelvedon stretch, run by Highways England, cost £840,000. The Hughes Corner scheme cost £740,000.

The number of tickets issued has not yet been revealed.
