Firefighters battle blaze in field in Peldon
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire in a field in Peldon.
Crews from Colchester and Mersea attended the fire in a 50m square field of cut hay and hay bales on Mersea Road shortly after 4.47pm today.
They used a hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire by 6.30pm.
Essex Fire and Rescue said the fire had been started deliberately.
