Olly Murs is at the centre of a fake video which has gone viral.
The Witham singer made global headlines with a video which appeared to show him saving a woman’s life.
Filmed in a restaurant, it seemed he was performing the Heimlich manoeuvre on a choking woman.
However, the singer today admitted it was a stunt for a tv show with Alan Carr.
“Sorry guys!! We got you hook, line and sinker,” he said in a tweet today.
The makers of the tv show Alan Carr’s Happy Hour also said: “BIG thanks to our friend @ollyofficial for taking part in a sketch for @happyhour. Watch @Channel4 next Friday at 8pm for the full story! .
However, while the former X-Factor star was praised the world over, some were not happy with one tweet branding it “a PR stunt at its worst.”
