AN inventor has created a pump spray which makes the most of every last drop.

Michael Pritchard, based in Langham, began working on his Anyway Spray technology in 2008 after he realised there was still spray in the bottle he was using to clean his kitchen which simply would not come out.

He then set about designing a tube which has millions of tiny holes all over it, rather than one at the end.

The patented technology means liquid can be sprayed whenever it is in contact with any hole which means all of it can be used.

Supermarket Tesco is now on board and is rolling out the design to all of their own brand trigger spray cleaning product.

Mr Pritchard, 49, said it was a massive boost. He said: “It is a game changer.

“A massive blue chip company has realised this is an actual problem and believe it works.

“It is already making a small, but real, difference to people.”

Mr Pritchard appeared on TV show Dragon’s Den with his technology and secured £125,000 worth of investment from Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis, but he amicably moved away from their business arrangement after a disagreement about the direction of his firm.

He has also left his previous invention, a system which purifies water by filtering it through a system with holes small enough to get rid of even the tiniest bacteria, called Lifesaver.

Mr Pritchard said: “I realised I could not give them both the time they deserved with two big projects so I decided to go with this one.

“They have already ordered extra so things are going well. It is a real buzz to see the product on the shelves.

“The other day I saw someone look at one of the other cleaners and choose my one. It was a lovely feeling.”

Tesco bosses estimate the product could save 30,000 litres of cleaning fluid a year.

Cleaning products buying manager Andy Blackett said: “As every householder knows, once the liquid gets close to the bottom of the bottle, it becomes difficult to reach the final drops.

“Around five millilitres of cleaning fluid is thrown away from each household cleaning trigger spray bottle. But with the Anyway Spray, this is no longer an issue.

“Even if the bottle is used sideways or upside down, it continues to work until every last drop is used up.

“We’re confident this brilliant British invention will help customers cut down on household waste and will end one of the greatest frustrations in household cleaning.”
