A MOTHER and daughter are scared in their own home after raiders burgled them while they slept.

Laura Fox, 19, and her mother Pam Gooch, 55, were sleeping in their home in Una Road, Parkeston, in the early hours of Saturday morning, January 12, when burglars broke in.

Pam’s wages from her job as a shop assistant were taken as well as other cash from her purse, totalling around £70.

Laura came downstairs at 7am the next morning to find the back door wide open and the contents of her mum’s purse thrown across the dining room, along with items in a bag belonging to her friend who has stayed the night.

Laura, who is studying for her A-Levels at Harwich and Dovercourt High School, said she was frightened because she doesn’t understand how burglars entered the house.

Anyone with information on the burglary, which took place between 3am and 7am, should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
