Royal visit for lighthouse authority

ROYALTY will be stepping on to Harwich soil to look around a maritime hub.

Princess Anne will visit Trinity House in Harwich Quay next month as her first royal engagement since becoming master of the corporation in May 2011.

While on her visit on March 12, The Princess Royal will take a tour of the offices and buoy yard to see the operational side of Trinity House.

As master of Trinity House, The Princess Royal follows from the Duke of Edinburgh who resigned from the position after 42 years. The post is now largely an honorary position but traditionally the master had communication with the reigning Monarch and Government.

Past masters include Samuel Pepys and the Duke of Wellington.

Perhaps she should cancel the visit until Tendering drivers learn to drive or close this junction.
