New council committee members announced

HARWICH councillors have been voted in as new committee members.

Rob Day was sworn in as chairman of the finance and general purposes committee at the latest Harwich Town Council meeting. Meanwhile Barry Brown and Maria Fowler were also voted to join the group at last week’s Harwich Town Council meeting.

Garry Calver is now on the allotments committee and Alan Todd was voted in to the environment and highways committee.

Councillors were also voted in to represent the council on charity and organisation boards.

Ricky Callender will represent the council on Museums in Essex, Dave McLeod was voted in for the Tendring District Association of Local Councils and Hugh Thompson and Maria Fowler will be on the Port Liason Committee.

does anybody realy care. they don't seem to achieve much for the town and only seem interested in getting their photos in the paper. like the letter in last weeks standard said, do we realy need all these town councillours
