Youngsters create willow den for playground

SCHOOLCHILDREN have created a new willow dome play area after a grant for the town’s port.

All Saints Primary School in Dovercourt was given £1,800 from Hutchison Ports for the project, which gave children the chance to build their own natural den.

Richard Hopkins, headteacher, said: “The idea for the willow dome came from the school council.

“The purpose of it is to make the outside environment at school more fun for the children.

“Another is the experience of building it, the children learn a lot of techniques.

“It also makes the school look nice in a way that is more natural rather than man made.”
