New cafe for care home New cafe for care home

A NEW cafe for care home residents and their families has been unveiled.

Harwich Mayor, John Thurlow, officially opened Cafe Ramsay at Ramsay Manor Care Home in Ramsey on Thursday, February 21.

Linda Sharkey, from Southend Care which runs the home, said: “The idea behind opening the café was to give our residents an alternative area to relax and have tea and coffee with their families and friends.

“A majority of our residents are local and have known the mayor prior to becoming a resident with us, but the opening enabled them to meet the major again not only in a professional capacity but also on a social level.

“We had entertainers for our residents on the day, which they were able to sing and dance too.”
