A GREENGROCER whose mobile delivery lorry was once used to carry the carnival queen has died.
Leslie Neal of Ramsey Road, Ramsey took on his dad’s fruit and veg business with his brother, Henry.
The pair were known for their A Neal and Sons green vans doing their rounds, going from house to house and to businesses delivering fruit and vegetables.
Mr Neal, a former choirboy at Ramsey Church, had suffered several illnesses over the past five years and passed away on February 4, aged 89.
His neice Penny Neal, said: “It was a common sight to see A Neal and Sons green vans doing their rounds.
“They delivered to houses, shops, pubs, and the Harwich and Dovercourt Hospital - their lorry carried the carnival queen at carnival.”
She added: “We have lovely memories and will miss him greatly.”
