THEY say opposites attract, and an animal rescue centre’s newest addition is proving just that.

Mistley Place Park has given a home to Extra, a rare albino African Pygmy hedgehog, with red eyes and pure white spikes.

The hand-sized hedgehog was no longer wanted by its owner, but is proving popular with the centre’s black and white African Pygmy called Elsie, which was taken in last year.

Park owners Michael and Maureen Taylor, tamed four month old Extra, who got his name for being the second of the breed at the park. He now runs around the Elsie in the warmth of Mr and Mrs Taylor’s home.

Are they paying all their VAT and taxes yet? Do the same inspectors visit this place as visit Colechester Zoo?
