Former Parkeston offices branded risk to public

A BUILDING site has been branded a danger to passers-by after a probe by council safety chiefs.

Tendring Council has ordered work to stop at the site in Parkeston until emergency measures are carried out to make the building safe.

Council officers and the Health and Safety Executive went to the site, on the corner of Adelaide Street and Garland Road, on Tuesday.

The former office block is being turned into flats.

I did wonder why it had gone very quiet from there all of a sudden, at last the residents of the street have some peace!
Hopefully the Council will hold the safety checks off for as long as possible as I can't say I am looking forward to the flats being occupied, probably get all the undesirables being chucked in there and bring more crime to an already struggling town.
