Tendring unemployment up for sixth month running

UNEMPLOYMENT in Tendring has risen for the sixth month in a row.

Figures show there were 3,605 people out of work and claiming benefits last month, up from 3,499 in January.

More than 4.6 per cent of Tendring’s working-age population is now on benefits – compared to a regional average of just 3.2 per cent.

But there were 280 more people in work last month, compared with January 2012.
