JAZZ comes to the big screen as director and producer Dick Fontaine brings his own work to the Harwich Festival.
His superb art film portrait of jazz legend Sonny Rollins makes its Essex debut at the Electric Palace Cinema tomorrow Sonny Rollins Beyond the Notes is centred around the great man’s extraordinary 80th birthday concert.
Dick had exclusive filming rights at the celebrations in New York in 2010.
Sonny is the only remaining jazz legend who played with Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, Miles Davis and John Coltrane in the golden age of jazz.
The 8.30pm screening will be introduced by Dick and followed by a Q&A session with him. Tickets are £8 plus membership.
