Schoolgirl's bid to shame litterbugs on Dovercourt beach
9:00am Sunday 1st September 2013 in Harwich and Manningtree News
A YOUNGSTER says litterbugs are putting sunseekers at risk by leaving shattered glass strewn along a beach.
Beth Oakley hopes to shame people into taking their litter home with them to save the environment.
"My family and I walk our dog along Earlham’s beach in Dovercourt and I see lots of glass bottles and broken glass shattered along the shore, as well as cans and other litter," said Beth, aged ten.
She and little sister Eve, eight, often walk their dog along the beach.
The pooch has already cut its paw on a broken bottle.
"I wish just people would pick up their rubbish," said Beth.
