Appeal to stop fly tipping ignored
12:00pm Tuesday 24th September 2013 in Harwich and Manningtree News
AN appeal to prevent rubbish being dumped at Ramsey’s War Memorial Hall has fallen on deaf ears after the remains of a shed were discarded there.
Pieces of wood and nails were dumped between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday with Tendring Council and the police informed about the matter.
There is a recycling centre outside the hall, but only cans, clothes and paper should be left there.
Hall secretary Suzanne Howe was appalled that someone had blocked the entrance to the football field and children’s play area with their junk.
“Our recreation manager had to move it so children could access the facilities.
“The mentality of people like this is beyond me, we give up our time entirely voluntarily and work tirelessly to improve this recreation site for all to enjoy."
