Little superstar inspires coffee morning and table top sale
4:00pm Friday 4th October 2013 in Harwich and Manningtree News
A LITTLE superstar who overcome the odds to fight a genetic disorder has inspired his mother to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
Rhia Dalby held a coffee morning and table top sale to raise money for Jeans for Genes run by Genetic Disorders UK who help families affected by genetic conditions.
Her son Riley was just a few days old when he was diagnosed with a chromosome abnormality in October 2011.
The one-year-old’s condition, ‘chromosome 21q deletion’, is so rare it has no official name.
Rhia, of Little Oakley, has raised £855 for the charity.
She said: “I was overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and family who helped with stalls."
