Burglars broke open football club’s tea hut with a crowbar
12:00pm Monday 7th October 2013 in Harwich and Manningtree News
A FOOTBALL club has been left devastated after thieves broke into their ground and stole food and drink.
Crooks broke into Harwich and Parkeston Football Club’s ground at the Royal Oak following a match.
They attempted to get in through a window before breaking open doors to the club’s tea hut by smashing three locks with a crowbar.
The raiders broke into the ground between 10.30pm on Tuesday and 12pm on Wednesday.
Around £300 of stock including burgers, hotdogs and rolls, was stolen and committee members estimate more than a £1,000 of damage has been caused.
They are asking anyone with information of the incident or who may have been offered the stolen items for sale to call Harwich police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
