POTENTIAL housing developments in Mistley need to ‘meet the needs’ of villagers in order to work.
Any future projects would be sought at a ‘reasonable rate’ according to Mistley Parish chair Martin Rayner.
Construction on 15 affordable homes off Harwich Road look set to start construction in the new year while planning permission has been given for 45 homes, offices and storage space along Mistley’s historic quayside.
Land of Stourview Close has also been proposed to be included in Tendring Council’s local plan under an amendment.
Mr Rayner said it had been accepted growth would take place but the village did not want to see ‘massive’ expansion.
“We need to have growth but it needs to be at a reasonable rate,” he said.
