A WILD West tale will be played out to a crowd of music and drama fans.

Brantham Amateur Theatre Society (BATS) will be performing Calamity Jane next month at Brantham Village Hall.

The musical is based on the real-life story of frontierswoman Martha Jane Canary and has a typical Western background of scouts, bar-rooms, gold miners and showgirls.

Chairman of BATS, Angie Heath, said: “We have got some people who have been in a lot of productions but we have also got one or two new people which is lovely to see. “

The musical will be shown at Brantham Village Hall. The opening night is February 19 at 7.30pm, other performances are February 20 and 21 at 7.30pm and February 22 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced £8 for adults and £6 for children and can be purchased by calling 01206 396674, texting 07891974844 or from Bakes and Blossoms Café in Acacia Court, Brantham.
