YOUNGSTERS are hoping to prove not all people who wear a hoody are trouble at their fourth annual festival.

Teen Talk’s youth forum Harwich Inspired Youth Action (HIYA) will be hosting the event which includes a Battle of the Bands competition with the winner receiving time in a recording studio.

Local acts competing against each other at the Park Pavilion in Barrack Lane, Dovercourt on Saturday from 10.30am until 3pm will be Specs, Favour, Luke Fisher, Alfie Snogger, Chris Johnson and Ashleigh and Anya.

There will also be special performances from The Grain and Exhale The Skies.

Teen Talk support worker Jodie Hall is looking forward to the event.

“This will be the first time I have been involved in the festival and it is really exciting,” she said.

“All of the young people have worked very hard to get it all organised including meetings all through their summer holidays.

“One of the themes this year has been recycling so we have been making decorations out of all sorts of things you would usually throwaway like leftover cardboard, milk bottles and old plastic and it is looking really good.”
