DEVELOPERS and landowners have proposed their own massive new housing estates for thousands of homes in Tendring.
Councillors have provisionally earmarked sites for 12,120 new homes across the district as part of Tendring Council’s new draft plan for development over the next 17 years.
The sites were agreed at a meeting of the council’s Local Plan Committee, attended by about 300 residents, on Tuesday.
In Harwich the largest sites are for 297 homes as part of the Harwich Valley development with a prospect of a further 67 on an additional site, Low Road with 315 homes and Ramsey Road and Mayes Lane having 186.
In Manningtree 360 homes are planned for Bromley Road in addition to 150 already being built on Cox’s Hill and 50 at Stourview Close in Mistley.
