A PAINTER and decorator working 10ft up was left bleeding in the street after a mobility scooter crashed into his ladder.
Still unable to work after the incident, Anthony Dewitt said he was shocked by the lack of empathy on the part of the rider, who had tried to squeeze her vehicle between his ladder and the British Flag pub, in West Street.
“I was lucky to walk away from it,” the father of three, of King’s Head Street, Harwich, said.
“I was up the ladder sanding one of the top windows down, I felt a bump and then, before I knew it, I was falling and on the floor."
The 56-year-old, who is self-employed, is still recovering from his ordeal.
“I would like to thank people who came to my aid, the staff at the British Flag pub, paramedics, doctors and nurses,” he said.
“But the woman on the mobility scooter gave a false address and has shown no concern.”
