PARENTS have been warned to be vigilant after a man tried to grab a young boy on his way home from school.
The Year Six child was walking home with a friend from Mayflower Primary School on Main Road Dovercourt after lessons had finished on Thursday when they were approached by two men in a silver car.
One of the men leaned out of the vehicle and made a grab for one of the boys.
Luckily they both escaped unharmed.
Headteacher Tony Coppin said the school would be taking extra measures to ensure pupils stayed safe.
“I will be going out to the front of the school at the end of the day to keep an eye on what is happening."
