A CHORAL group will be rubbing shoulders with the stars after being picked to perform at a glitzy charity bash.

Harwich Sing will star at the London Butterfly Ball this Saturday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Rhys Daniels Trust, which provides accommodation for the families of seriously ill children.

Last year, the event was supported by star names, including television presenter Chris Tarrant, music legend Billy Ocean and Pop Idol finalist Gareth Gates, with more celebrities expected to attend this time around.

The group were selected to perform at the ball because founder Clare Leach’s family had support from the charity when her daughter, Maisie, was in King’s College Hospital in London being treated for liver disease.

“I have a personal link with the Rhys Daniels Trust, which is how the opportunity has come about,” Clare said.

“Everyone is thrilled about our adventure to London and we are going from strength to strength.

“To have the opportunity to performat a prestigious event like The Butterfly Ball at the Lancaster Hotel is very exciting.

“It is an honour to be recognised in this way and to try to put Harwich and Harwich Sing on the map."
