BEER buffs are gearing up for the 13th edition of the Harwich and Dovercourt Bay Winter Ale Festival.
More than 50 real ales, real ciders, pearies and Belgian beers have been handpicked by organisers and will be on offer at Kingsway Hall from 5pm on Wednesday, December 3.
This year’s theme is the centenary of the Harwich Naval Force which defended the town in the First World War.
Manager Ken Brand said: “Harwich’s festival has built up a reputation for offering a varied beer list in very good condition and this year we have a wide range of strengths styles and flavours to be sampled and enjoyed.
“The strengths range from 2.5 per cent to ten per cent so there is truly something for everyone.”
Refreshments will be provided by the Cafe on the Pier with live music from the Onion Band and Young Claws.
Doors will be open between 5pm and 11pm on December 3 and between 11am and 11pm on December 4, 5 and 6.
