A WORRIED parent says her teenage daughter is being put at risk by buses failing to turn up or arriving late to pick up students from outside their school.

Barbara Beckensall, of Bradfield Road in Wix, says her daughter Chloe has to catch the bus to and from Harwich and Dovercourt High School.

But numerous delays and buses that never show are causing safety concerns after attempted accostings across Tendring.

“Since September, it has happened five times," she said

“Kids are left waiting at the bus stop – I don’t want them waiting in the dark because the bus is late and then having to walk to another stop, near the old pet shop in Main Road, because it hasn’t turned up.

“Something has to be done.”

A spokesman for First apologised for the failings and said action was being taken to ensure buses do stop at the school.
