A NEW community bus service has been launched in Harwich.
Harwich Connexions has started a dial-a-ride service, which aims to help people attend medical appointments, go shopping or visit family and friends.
People wishing to travel are being advised to book early to ensure they get the journey times they want.
Harwich Connexions executive co-ordinator Debbie Rotchell said it might take time before the service was running smoothly.
She said: “Whilst we are delighted to announce the launch of the service, we need to remind people they need to book as far in advance as possible to be assured they can get a bus at a time they need it.
“This is a very new service and we are still in the process of putting all the relevant systems in place, so it will be another two or three weeks before we are running at full capacity.”
To book a journey, call 01255 552010.
