YOUNGSTERS became instant television sensations after performing part of their nativity play on television show This Morning.
Pupils from Mistley Norman Primary School appeared on the ITV daytime show on Wednesday after winning a competition.
The popular show lined up schools from around the country to perform different scenes from the Christmas story.
Despite a few timing issues, the pupils impressed presenters Philip Schofield and Amanda Holden, and cheeky youngster Cheyann Amoss even asked for a picture with silverhaired host Phil live on air.
Headteacher Amanda Woolmer said everyone had had a brilliant day.
“The children were very excited and it was a very long day, but everyone had a wonderful time,” she said.
“We were treated brilliantly by all of the team at This Morning.
“Unfortunately, we were late arriving at the studio and only got to rehearse right before it went live.
“The cameras were also right in front of the prompters and I was not allowed a script but, fortunately, Phil stepped in and it got back on track.”
The school also raised £100 for ITV’s Text Santa Appeal when they performed in front on their parents earlier in the week.
