A CRUNCH meeting is being held over plans for a roundabout at an accident blackspot junction on the A120.
The Highways Agency is meeting with councillors, Harwich and North Essex MP Bernard Jenkin and other stakeholders this week.
A 50mph speed limit is already in place between Hare Green, Pellens Corner and Horsley Cross.
The short term measure will be enforced by average speed cameras, which are set to go live later this month.
Longer term plans are for a mulit-million pound roundabout and prepatory work has already begun on its design.
Campaigner and Great Bromley councillor Fred Nicholls said: “We are hoping to get across to them whilst the average speed cameras have definitely slowed the traffic down noticeably there has still been a near miss."
