A VILLAGE is set to get road improvement works as a house designed by Turner-prize winning artist Grayson Perry nears completion.

Councillors say they are experiencing a substantial increase in visitors eager to get a glimpse of the new chapel-style holiday home.

Representatives from Essex County Council and Wrabness Parish Council met to discuss issues surrounding access to properties and inconsiderate parking at a new Essex Highways surgery session.

Now Rodney Bass, cabinet member for Highways, and Eddie Johnson, cabinet member for Highways maintenance, have agreed to carry out improvements.

This will include a new signage scheme and new road markings.

They will also contact NCP, operators of Wrabness’ station car park, to urge them to begin talks with the parish council over better use of the car park.
