ALLOTMENT holders have been dealt a blow in their wait for a new home after being told land set for green-fingered residents could now be built on.
Mistley Parish Council was hoping to provide allotment space behind affordable homes being built off Harwich Road in the village.
But an agreement between the council and the developers was not signed and now the council has been told the land may be used to build houses.
Angry allotment holders attended a meeting of the council on Monday night and demanded answers.
Council chairman Martin Rayner said: “We share the frustration of the allotment holders.”
