A CHARITY could be forced to install CCTV after a “mindless” pet owner continues to dump festering dog mess containing maggots near a children’s play area.

The waste has been repeatedly left in a black bag by Ramsey War Memorial Hall’s play area since November.

The bags were collected by Veolia waste services with the rest of the rubbish left for collection, but the charity’s committee members became suspicious and the contents of the bag were examined.

Inside the black bag, a blue bag containing leaves and dog mess was discovered.

The latest incident this week has left the charity appealing for the culprit to stop.

It is liaising with Tendring Council to see if it can install CCTV at the site, which has also been victim of fly-tipping.

Suzanne Howe, secretary for the Ramsey War Memorial Hall Committee, said: “Inside was quite a high volume of dog faeces and our concern is where it is being put by a children’s play area.

“We would like the person responsible to kindly not dispose of it there.”
