YOUNGSTERS were put on the right track towards railway safety after a visit from a driver at Abellio Greater Anglia.
Pupils from Year One at Chase Lane Primary School, in Dovercourt, were shown a film about the impact of their actions near the railway, learned how to behave appropriately and took part in a question-and-answer session with train driver Bramwell Bines and Essex County Council’s community rail partnership officer, Lynda Stone.
Mr Bines said: “It was a pleasure to visit the school and speak to children about safety.
“The class enjoyed the talk so much they invited us back to speak to the rest of the school later this term.”
Last year, the pair visited 14 schools in Essex and spoke to more than 3,000 children about how they can stay safe on trains.
Any school interested in organising a talk can e-mail lynda.stone@essex.gov.uk.
