YOUTHS seeking to fund their cannabis habit could be behind a spate of shed and outbuilding burglaries in Harwich, it has been claimed.
Police are calling on residents to help crackdown on drug related crime and drug dealing across Tendring.
Harwich's top cop, sgt Paul Gale said while the town doesn't have a major drug problem, the issue is ongoing and police are keen to tackle those selling or committing crimes related to drugs.
He said: "Over recent months we have executed some good warrants where arrests have been made which has been as a result of the public providing us with good Intelligence.
"I want to encourage the public to continue to talk to the police or provide us with information through crimestoppers around this subject, which both impacts and affects the quality of life in the community as a whole."
