BOXERS will be pulling on their gloves for a series of bouts tomorrow.

Harwich Boxing Club is holding the show at the Park Pavilion, in Barrack Lane, Dovercourt, with doors opening at 12.30pm.

The first bell is at 2pm with competitors travelling from as far afield as Norwich, London and Bristol to take part.

There will also be an all female bout for just the second time in the club’s 18-year history.

Head coach Martin Webb said: “It is a great chance to showcase our boxers in front of the local community and hope as many people as possible will come out and support the event.”

INFLATABLE fun is coming to Dovercourt Skating Rink on bank holiday Monday.

A vast array of bouncy castle castles and slides will be put up with bungee runs, gladiator jousts and sumo suits.

The fun starts at 11am at the Lower Marine Parade site.

Wristbands which give children use of the inflatables are priced at £5.

A TASTE of Italy is coming to Manningtree.

Travelling food market Italian Piazza will set up in the Market Square all day on Monday.

Produce is sourced from the roots of Calabria, famous for its chillies, to the port city of Genoa, known for pesto, and everywhere in between.

A vast range of meats, cheeses, breads and much more will all be on offer.

A PICTURESQUE garden in Wrabness will be opening to the public this weekend.

Strandlands, off Rectory Road, is a cottage surrounded by four acres of land bordering the Stour Estuary.

There is one acre of decorative garden, a formal courtyard, lily pond, summerhouse and a secret moon garden.

Grayson Perry’s House for Essex can also be seen from the garden.

Admission costs £3.50 tomorrow and on Sunday between 10am and 6pm, and £4 on Monday between 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Children are free.

The cottage is open tomorrow and on Sunday for light refreshments.

A TALK is being held on Turkish natural remedies in Wrabness.

Wrabness Garden Club is hosting the event at the village hall, in Station Road, on Thursday at 7.30pm.

Jenny Gibbs, who lives in a rural Turkish village, will be the guest speaker.

Entry costs £2 for members and £3 for non-members.

A SCHOOL reunion for fifthformers who left the Harwich School in 1975 takes place tomorrow.

The event runs from 7pm until midnight at The Royal, in Main Road, Dovercourt, and will feature a disco, games and drinks. Tickets cost £5 from Lee Nichols on 01255 850904.
