ENJOY some exotic foods at a fundraising evening for a Bangladeshi medical centre on Tuesday.
The Red Lion, in Manningtree, will raise money for the Valerie Taylor Trust by hosting the event, which supports the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed.
The centre was founded in 1979 by physiotherapist Val Taylor after she visited the country and was appalled by the condition she found the paralysed population living in.
Jean Ward, of Oxford Road, Manningtree, organised the fundraiser after volunteering at the centre’s children’s unit many times over the past 16 years.
Spinal injuries are a big issue in the country, with traffic and workplace accidents commonplace.
The event will feature traditional Bangladeshi dishes from local restaurant Nirala Tandoori.
Starting at 7.30pm, there will also be a short film about the work the trust does and a chance to win prizes in a raffle.
Tickets for the evening will cost £15, and can be booked by calling the Red Lion on 01206 391880.
