A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a collision with a car near the Asda supermarket in Dovercourt.
The woman was riding along Main Road, by the entrance to Heron Way, when the crash happened at about 5pm on Friday.
Paramedics arrived at the scene to treat the woman, who had suffered a head injury and a cut.
She was lifted onto a stretcher and into an ambulance before being taken to Colchester General Hospital as a precaution.
Her injuries are not thought to be serious.
Small sections of Main Road and Heron Way were closed off while paramedics worked at the scene.
Police officers were on hand to direct traffic around the incident.
The road was cleared by about 7pm on Friday.
