A SCHEME to build nine homes in Bradfield has been turned down.
Tendring Council received an application from NNC Homes for the site in Steam Mill Road.
A previous application for nine homes on the land had also been refused last year.
The latest proposal was for a mix of bungalows, chalets and houses with garages or parking spaces.
The council decided the drawings provided did not show how the homes could be accommodated without being out of character with the surrounding area and causing harm.
Bradfield Parish Council objected to the scheme as it felt it was overdevelopment of the site and would be out of character with the setting.
Tendring Council received eight letters opposing the application on a number of grounds including the fact it was backland development.
