A CHARITY walk through a beautiful nature reserve was met with stunning weather and enthusiastic visitors.

The eighth annual Bobbit’s Stroll saw more than 300 visitors take advantage of the glorious sunshine to explore the reserve, in the centre of Dovercourt.

Vo lunteers with the Harwich Society were on hand on Sunday to show the visitors around, as well as raising charity cash by selling refreshments and raffle tickets.

Families took in the view, participated in the children’s quiz trail and made the most of the beautiful surroundings.

Colin Farnell, Harwich Society chairman, said: “Bobbit’s Hole enjoys wonderful public support throughout the year, but the day of the Bobbit’s Stroll charity event is always very special.

“Once again, the weather was kind and the response was overwhelming.”

A total of £522 was raised for Guide Dogs, with the charity’s own stand raking in a further £155 in sales and donations.

Harwich mayor Pam Morrison, who opened the fundraiser, said: “It is a lovely event in a beautiful setting and is a great credit to the Harwich Society volunteers who mak e it possible .”
