A SUMMERHOUSE was completely destroyed following a fire in Bradfield.

Firefighters were called at 1.20am on Monday morning to Cansey Lane.

Two crews used two hose reel jets to prevent the fire spreading to a neighbouring shed.

The fire was extinguished by 2.10am.

A fire service investigation will now take place to establish the cause of the fire.

UPDATE 10.40pm: A fire service spokesman confirmed the summerhouse was vacant at the time and there were no injuries.

An investigation found the fire took hold after a bonfire was started too close to the building.
