A FAMILY have raised £1,000 from throwing a tea and cake day in memory of loving son Stephen.
Mary Mckenna, 78, of The Vineway, Dovercourt, lost her son Stephen last April when he was 51years old.
He suffered with alcohol cirrhosis of the liver, which he died of by being cared for St Helena Hospice.
Mary and other family members held a tea and cake day to raise money for the hospice on April 29.
St Helena’s Hospice got in touch with Mary this week to tell her the event raised £1,000.
Mary said: “I did not think we would raise anything as high at we have, and I cannot thank people enough for their kindness.”
