MORE Harwich businesses than ever before have signed up for this year’s Tendring Jobs and Careers Fair.

The Harwich Haven Authority, Surya Foods, Grange Fencing, Galloper Wind Farms and the Pier Hotel will all be at the event on Tuesday, October, 4.

Courtesy buses will be running from Dovercourt railway station for the fair at Clacton Town Hall, which will run from 10am to 4pm.

Neil Glendinning, chief executive at Harwich Haven Authority, which is debuting this year, said: “W This is the first time we have exhibited at the Tendring Jobs and Careers Fair and we’re delighted to support such a great initiative.

“We have been the proud guardian of the Haven Ports since 1863 and we’re always keen to recruit people living in the Tendring area.

“Conservancy, pilotage and vessel traffic services are our core business, which are supported by engineers, seamen, marine support teams as well as general business functions such as IT, HR, accounts and administration.”

Stas Anastasiades, operations director of Milsom Hotels and Restaurants, which owns the Pier Hotel, said: “Our district hosts an impressive list of forward thinking and inspiring employers and to bring so many of them together in this way, as well as some fantastic national organisations has got to make this an event that every local job seeker and graduate should attend. “The Pier at Harwich has employed enthusiastic, ambitious and hardworking local people since the 70s and it believes wholeheartedly in the area and looks forward to welcoming visitors to their stand on the day.”

More than 55 stands are expected at the fair with more than 2,000 visitors expected.
