PROFESSIONAL wrestlers will be on the ropes with homegrown heroes in Dovercourt's biggest overboard event.

This year's overboard will see a host of rookie and experienced wrestlers face off in both one-to-one match ups and group rumbles.

Organiser Mark Young is promising an almighty show, with suspense and surprises throughout, at Dovercourt Caravan Park, on Sunday, November 12.

The Wrestling League promoter is hoping the event will be a sell-out success for adults and youngsters and he has secured top wrestlers from overseas as well as local stars from the Harwich School of Slam.

One of the highlights of the night is expected to be a fight between Wrestling League Champion James Castle and long time foe Pastor William Eaver.

Mark said the other main attraction to the event will be a 40-man rumble which will see wrestlers coming into the ring every 40 seconds until it is full.

Both WWE star Roy Johnson and Australian wrestler Josh Shooter are just two of the names confirmed in the rumble.

Mark said: "The annual overboard event will see the largest ever 40-man royal rumble match where the winner will face the Wrestling League Champion - whoever that may be - in February at Ha'Penny Havoc 4.

"Last year was a 20-man show and this year we have a 40-man show, so it will be the we have largest ever hosted.

"There will be a mixture of professional wrestlers from around Europe and it is looking like there will be about 13 wrestlers from the Harwich School of Slam.

"It is all very exciting and that’s the main part of the show."

Star of most popular first dates episode Lewis Howley will be in action against Sid Scala.

Mark added: "Last year was sold out. The difference this year is that we have more wrestlers from the school of slam competing. Last year we has six wrestlers from the school."

The event will kick off at noon with ticket prices ranging from £5 to £20.

Tickets can be bought at Media Vault, in Dovercourt High Street, or online by clicking here.
